So, there I was, in the car on the ring-road, nothing too fast, nothing to slow.. but at one point, maybe 47 in a 40. Meanwhile Captain Hairdryer in out in his best flourescents, stood behind a tree, presumably in the glorious sunshine he was simply too warm and had to seek shade.. that must be it... nothing to do with revenue generation. Anyway, past I drove and wondered.. then went to the shops, collected what I needed, and continued to wonder... ...mmmm paranoia.. ...so, decided just to go back and ask him if I'd been caught going too quickly. Quite surprised that someone had come back to ask, he was. But thankfully the friendly chap said I'm in the clear, he'd have stopped me there and then were I going too fast. So there you go, at least there's still some margin for a few miles an hour over when the human element is maintained. And for anyone in Derbyshire today, don't speed or be 'dangers on the road' along Warwick Avenue. This has been a public service announcement.
