Delurk - arrgh and other matters of an "etc" nature.

  1. I do urban 95% of the time. Filtering is no problem, I'm no courier but
I'm no slouch either. The hardest thing about filtering is keeping awareness
and concentration high as you feel increasingly smug about leaving the cagers
behind. It's inherently risky /all/ the time, and when you slip into the
comfort zone is when you are most at risk. IMO of course.

Down-side of all the urban-ness is that as I've said before, I can't
corner. I know it, I can feel it. Most corners around here are right-angles
in 30mph limits where you're lucky to get above 20 as an average. Just
nowhere to practice. I should really get on a track. I should also buy a
    VFR400.
Good point, well made. I might even learn something.

  2. ukrm doesn't really do "riding out" in that sense. We tend more for the
ride to somewhere and then drink ourselves unconscious style of things.

  4. I'm off the sauce. I suppose I could have a glass of water and a bag of
    peanuts.

Please, don't send me to uk.rec.cycling.

They are with everyone I know. there're a few little "rules" when there' a
fast few and a slow few, like the fast guys don't go off he main route
without stopping to allow the slower riders to catch up.

I should have a bike within the month and will be
That's easy. Just close your eyes, squeeze your arse cheeks and go.
    Whereabouts are you btw?

The meting and riding out with ukrm is the easy bit, it's the offer of
extra tuition in Room 1 that's hardest to refuse.

That's how it works whenever I ride with anyone of different abilities.

    or just
If they want to sod off, let 'em, but it's not a thing decent people do and
despite the chest pounding and piss taking, the ukrm-ers aren't actually
    mean at all.

Is this not how things work? I'm
But you must. It's the only way.

I just hoped I might be
I'm sure you will. Christ, even *I* have.

I looked at the 250TR closely when I was deciding what to do with my
SR250. I took a few styling cues from it.

  11. Well, indeed Rush did start to write shorter songs by the time Moving Pictures
was released, but I wouldn't say that they are more fun than earlier epics
    such as 2112 and Hemispheres.

There is the peak district on the doorstep and the lakes aren't far North.

You're not really upset with that attempt at a joke are you?
Cheers Ginge, at least someone appreciates my efforts at humour here.
