The Blackbird is freshly MOT'd, and has tax and insurance renewed as
    of Monday.

.... and Dobles have one 2008 spec CB1300S in red for a grand off list.

Perhaps they'll still have it in March.

So, in credit crunch, recession Britain, what's a freshly MOT'd
Blackbird with intergalactic mileage and a slightly stressed rear shock
    worth?

    Intergalactic? 32k?

Slightly stressed? It's fubared, and no mistake.

Three quarters of **** all, at a guess.

I'll swap it for a tenner next week and you're on your way to that red
    CB1300S you've always promised yourself

I wonder how many of us it'll take to give him the bumps.

Oh, and happy birthday SD :)

[1] that would have been much funnier if someone had said it about me

Who cares? The CB will be at its lowest price roughly now, so the cost
to change will be less now than in March.

Buy it SD! You know you've earned it.

Saw one at the NEC. Looks nice. Overweight but you don't mind that. But
if my dodgy Kw to Bhp conversion was right it seemed more than a tad
    strangled?

    Strangled isn't the issue.

It should fit the pair of us, it's sitty-uppy, it's still going to go
quick enough to tear my licence into tiny shreds, it's got "proper"
brakes, max torque is only at five and half, not, seven and a half as
on the BB[1], and it looks nice, and it's got gold wheels, and I want
    one.

Next expense is the trousers to match the new jacket.

    And some glubs.

If March is anywhere near decent, bonus-wise[2], the it's a done deal.

It's always easier to seek forgiveness than permission.

[1] Suspiciously, the CBR1100XX no longer features on Honda's UK site.
[2] I've not yet decided on the criteria for "decent", but it won't be
    very strict.

    Wot I did today.

    By 'eck, they're snug.

More comfy sitting than standing, which I suppose is ideal for
    motorcycle trousers.

That should be me done for m/c clothing for ever, hopefully.

I took the gixer out for a spin today - first journey I've done over
40mph in ages. The new kit is excellent - for 350 quid it was an
    absolute bargain.

Still cold fingers and toes though. Bah.
