Gonna do a weekend sometime this year, anyone know a decent hotel that's not
    stupid money?

Erm, what's your price range, where do you want to stay, what do you
    want to see, etc, etc?

They range from expensive to bloody horrendously expensive. You'll not
find a decent place for anything less than €150 - €200 per night for a
decent hotel in the centre of Paris.

Slightly east of centre or by the periph, then you'll pick up places
like the IBIS or Novotels (or even family run style hotels) for around
    €90 per night.

Lemme know what star rating you're thinking of and I'll get back to
    you.

I've no idea what you norvern mahnkeys call "stupid money", but the
Hilton near Champs Elysees is pretty good.

That's what I did, when my lad was younger. Ibis in Noisy-le-Grand, which
has a Novotel next door. 15km out, close to A4, 10 minute walk from the
RER, which is the Paris/Eurodisney line.

The area was rather shabby back then. Looking at google street view it has
had a lot of development recently, post riots.

3 nights, Fri-Sun in April is £37 a night for a family room. Room only.

There's a shopping mall across the road with kid friendly restaurants.

    existence.

OK, the catacomb thing is interesting. Other than that? No art,
culture, decent restaurants, facilities, etc. I think we have to
remember that the French' idea of "modernisme" remains in the 1920s.
There isn't even any fucking joie de vivre.

The real ogden thinks Paris is a massively overrated shithole.

    Musée d'Orsay's good, mind.
