    Hmm.

I suppose the argument I should be considering is that whilst he will
undoubtedly take satisfaction from my failing to discuss fora/forums any
longer[1], this small satisfaction will be less than that he gleans in
the forthcoming weeks following continued attention.

It's horrible to think that he may be getting off on the attention, do
you think he wanks whilst he posts?

[1] there's little point since no one else has supported him and there's
plenty of evidence that our 'language expert' is wrong

heh. I seem to be particularly typo prone today. I just read back a
couple of my posts and they could have been typed by Alan gower.

Years ago, when I worked for a national childrens charity on their
phonelines, I was in the unfortunate position (along with other
counsellors) of having someone on the other end of the phone, doing
    exactly that.

Was that via the premium rated number that funded the service?

Close, I thought Simon Batey. I guess they're both Welsh and ride
    bikes.

How would you know? Did he tell you? He may have been lying. Although
    why escapes me.

I think it was the "uh, uh" noises and the "dont stop now, keep talking
I'm almost there" that gave it away.

Heh, no bugger told me, if that was the case.

On 2 Jan 2004 14:14:04 GMT, "sweller" <> bored us
all completely to death with wittery prose along the lines of:

Unfortunately, it becomes pretty obvious. Other signs are when the
counsellor has to do most of the talking or the person on the other
end doesn't really offer a problem to talk about. Using different
names every time he called was a biggie too (you get to recognise
    regular voices)

The crunch actually came, when one of the supervisors asked me to ask
him. In a very timid voice, IIRC, he admitted it.

You pick up on most things through experience.

It's strange how I remember some of this stuff. After all, this was
    over 10 years ago now.

On the other hand, just consider for a moment - reflect, if you will
.... how that hard-won experience then enables you to deal with uk.r.m.
    on a daily basis.

<G> They're called 'killfiles' and 'Hit the ignore button'

Even then, it isn't easy. Dealing with children and dealing with
adults are two different things. :)

kinda missing the point of Usenet, aren't you?

I mean, it's "for" pointless arguments.
