Anyone know the address of the bike shop that sells older bikes.
Mate is after a bike between 1993-1998, something like a Kwak 1000, or
    CBR 1000R

  2. You've lost me. I'm *in* Carlisle, and I know of no such placename or
dealer round here, just 3 bog-standard bike shops in town. Throw me
    another crumb?

    Thanks for replying.
I have found the tel. in biketrader and googled it. It seems to be in a
place called Harker, so I've loaded the sat-nav and he can borrow that
to find it. It also seems like it is a breakers.
    (Unit D, Harkers Park)

    Cheers anyway.

Oh, them. High Performance Bikes, yes. I used to get replacement
indicator lenses [1] for my old CG125 (makes Sign of Holy Pushrods)
from them when they were based in Carlisle itself. I haven't had
cause to use them since they moved. They seemed okay. Let me know if
you need any more help. I go past that road end every day on the way
    to and from work.

[1] I, er, went through a few at first, until I mastered the art of
    keeping it upright...

I'm originally from Carlisle. I reckon the "Burghley" was more likely
to be Burgh-by-Sands (pronounced "bruff"), which is a few miles out of
town in the middle of nowhere, on the Solway estuary.

If you're visting Harker, it might also be worth popping in to Lloyds
Honda at Kingstown; about the same distance from M6 J44 as Harker, but
    in the other direction.

  6. You escaped? Well done...
I considered that, but discarded it as a possibility.
Only if you're in the market for a recent model, and seriously
overpriced at that. The OP was looking for older bikes.

Will do, ta. The lad is going this Saturday, and like everyone he
*will* come back with a bike.

That's right, he wants to take it back to Denmark with him, in about a
years time. Apparently it has to be an older bike, or he will pay a
    fortune in import duty.
