The dealer who wanted to slug me nearly $300 "dealer delivery"
on a 2ND hand bike rang and offered to waive it if it'd close the
    sale :)

Now would be a good time to start 'bargaining'
but personally, I wouldn't deal with them.

Do not be offended, it is all part of the game (and it is a game)

If the price is reasonable for the condition of the bike then buy it.
    If not then continue negotiating.

I agree but they are turning out to be persistent. :-(

Persistent as in ringing you and trying to coerce you into making a decision
quickly? You can hang up the phone. They'll probably get the idea pretty
quickly. might even give you a better bargaining position. If their
behaviour is upsetting you next time they call tell them you're going to call
the police and make a complaint against them for stalking, but you'd probably
want to be sure you don't want to buy anything off them before you say that,
because it's likely to be the end of any good relations with them.

  7. Exactly. Make an offer and walk away. I have got some great deals doing
that in the past. Always another bike, car, house or whatever.

    Regards, Andrew.

That's a great idea, right up to the point where they say "OK,
you'd better go buy that one then".

you think thats bad, im pissed off that every shop i ask about honda special
15990 ride away on a new black bird deal.

just ended there now 19 + on roads.

And you do. IF that option is available. Otherwise, you keep shopping
around. If they want to sell the bike bad enough, they'll come to the
table. If not, then move on.

A quick check of Bikesales.com.au suggests that there are around 1,500
bikes for sale in Victoria, alone. Or around 4,098 in total from that
website alone. The fellow just needs to exercise discipline and resist
the "I gotta have it now" urge.

Of course, the bikeshop's offer may be entirely reasonable too...

$15990 at Horizon Motorcycles in Hobart.

I'm sure that there's more than 19 Blackbirds on the roads, if they can fit
four and twenty in a pie.
