When the Bandit 600 is warm, after a mile or so, the engine dies and
doesn't restart. I've checked everything that I can think of, the
battery is quite old, maybe its not charging anymore...

    Bummer...

I would check the connectors found on you left hand side under the
seat. On Gareth's bike these were corroded and produced intermittent
    faults including starting.

The magnet might be worn out. The Curie point does drop with time on
    cheap ones.

Have you or anyone else done any work on it recently: replaced plugs etc?

Well, we've sorted it, we think, with a new battery... fingers
    crossed...

The old battery didn't seem to take a charge... end of life...

There must be a reserve magnet, otherwise you'll be fucked if the main
magnet reaches the Curie point and loses all it's magnetism.
