De-Lurking

That doesn't work, trust me (1)

(1) I tried it, the petrol melts the plastic water pistol and your hand
ends up in flames (2)
(2) BIG FLAMES

 

I also tried that, but with more success. Here's the recipie:

1) Find friendly madman with pyromania, a quantity of spare, but old
petrol and a brick barbecue that is attached to a wall.
2) Live with said madman until he has a barbecue.
3) Eat, drink, be merry.
4) Once that's done, stoke up the barbie with some more fuel.
5) Squirt the petrol at the wall using water pistols, starting away from
the barbie and working towards it.
6) Marvel when the whole wall goes up, looking like Hell is making an
entrance.

 

Tell you what does work though. An old style bicycle pump (not one of these
sideways microvalve efforts, a proper one, for inflating Chopper or Grifter
tyres etc), a bucket of white spirit, and a source of ignition.

Draw the white spirit up into the bicycle pump then squirt it out through
your source of ignition. Makes a wicked flame thrower

We tried it when I was a kiddy in the mid 70s, using a nightlight candle as
the source of ignition (must have been very calm and windless that day), it
worked really well!
