  1. That reminds me. Is it worth joining the MAG? Apart from being a member,
I can't see any real benefit, IYSWIM[1]. Some bloody scary stuff on
their website like insurance companies wanting you to be insured whether
you ride or not,[2] that kind of stuff.

[1] They "fight the cause" and need money so that's a reason to join.

[2] Seen in here at one time or another, I'm sure.

I signed up tonight anyway. They seem to do good things and might be
able to make some cash selling my details to spammers.

Nah, they spot the poncy blue saddle and realise Whingey's just a big gurl.

  8. **** off. The DPM duck tape I ordered from the poncy surplus and
adventure was out of stock and despite promising a refund on my purchase
I have received nothing. I really did want to make it look bad ass,
honest, but the people at surplus and adventure are advertising a
product they do not have and haven't fulfilled their promise to refund
so I can buy some from elsewhere.

  9. They (IMHO) have done more to damage the cause of motorcyclist over the
last 20 years by sticking to outdated stereotypes than anyone/anything
    else.

    Steer clear young Whinging.

If they are proper bikers, they'll have nothing to do with MAG. That's
an organisation for wannabees and fuckwits.

the cont known as MattG says...
They did. Very pessimistic to begin with, I had to do all the running
with the insurance company, no contact unless I initiated it, denied
receiving emails(1), and even after the silly cow's insurance company
admitted liability they continued to tell me I didn't have much of a
    chance.

I have to give them a bit of credit though. When the last person to
take on my case was assigned, it was all sorted within about 6 weeks(2)

    (1) I had 'read receipts' for them.
    (2) This was over 8 months later though.

  19. Doesn't surprise me in the slightest, my bike was reversed into and
knocked of the stand. The car didn't actually then run over it so in
essence a 0 mph drop - cost the drivers insurance just shy of £900
IIRC and 2 days car hire.
