Mmm, that's exactly what I do. Except I like to start later and finish later
    instead.

Then again I bill by the hour and as long as all the work gets done the
    client is happy.

    :)

    It's crap in Queensland.
You get home while the sun's still blazing and you have to cook tea while wiping the sweat off your brow and
then try and get to sleep while it's still stinking hot.
All so you can get out of bed in the morning when it's cold.....

And an hour either way would make a load of difference?

Big difference between 5 and 6pm up here. (and 6 and 7)
We don't have this evening twilight that you get in Victoria. We get hot bright days. Hot evenings for an
hour after sundown and then tolerable for the next 8 hours before it gets hot again.
Daylight savings takes an hour of tolerable from your evening and gives you an extra hour of hot instead.
    Lovely!
(We'd actually be better off putting our clocks BACK! Then we could spend an extra hot hour at work and have
    a cooler evening at home)

I'm with Clem for the same reasons.

If it doesn't make a big difference why have DS in the first place.

Tell me Dale, at what time do you say wish each other Happy New Year?

  7. At the time the calendar officially switches to the New Year ... what
other time would you do it?

    Cheers

Remember when there was fighting between Pacific nation/islands to be the first to see year 2000?
I think one of them introduced 3-hour daylight savings!!

Hey. Let 'em have their non DST. It just means that they have to work
around our business hours when dealing with us.

    Absolutely right!
Every year we have to put up with southerners fucking up teleconferences, call diversions and all the
scheduling because they cannot understand timekeeping!
Talk about short attention spans; I mean, THEY'RE the ones who frig around with the clocks so you'd think they
could remember it for a few months but they obviously think the world conforms to them!
We just shake our heads and wait for March.....

wiping the sweat off your brow and
I love daylight saving. The fact that others hate it just makes it so much
    better.

    But I'm a **** like that.

  14. That's it ... and officially in Tas it is 1 hour earlier than it would
    be without DST.

But if you want to be really picky you would work out exactly the
longitude and all that. In the end it's whatever works ... and it
    works here.

I'm not suggesting that it works everywhere, just works well in Tas.

So if you had annual savings you could celebrate 2010.
In Feb '89 we had 25 days over 35ºC. People in Perth appreciate the
sun going down. It's nice to cook outside just after the sun goes
down, leaving the house open so that it cools down too. Night is the
    best shade you can get.

Procrastination is like masturbation, in the end the only one you ever will be fucking is yourself.
