If you just want some small amount of sugar and a lot of water, yes.
But if you want a lot of carbohydrate as well, no.

I do endurance races and the carb intake needs to be kept very high as
well as a large intake of water.
    Ha.

I'd answer that, but thankfuckfully I've already had Mark read this

That's not exclusive to university. At a similar age (18-21) I was doing
exactly the same with the other BR secondmen.

Admittedly university areas are more geared up to this and there are a
lot more more females in education than the railways. But hey! that's
    what nursing colleges are for.

Supermarket staff in general, I'd agree, but a supermarket manager has
to make sure to stock things people want to buy, increase add-on
sales, keep the customers loyal in a retail area of very hot
    competition etc.

I went late, in my 30s, because up to that time, I didn't know what I
wanted to study. I went to learn, not to get a good job. Of the
    checklist below supplied by simonk:
No, already could do that, but most people who go to uni do learn that
    there.
for me, already done that in spades.
No, not really and not often.
No, had tame boyfriend at home at weekends.
    Not for me, didn't need.
yep, learned to play squash - badly, mind.
No, sadly, friendships made then didn't stick.
All well said, but may I add that it's even better when the huge bunch
of people are of different ages. The bunch of 18-25 year olds in our
year reckoned it was good having a smattering of older people around.

Waitrose doesn't. I grabbed the stock manager, or whatever he is, and asked
him to stock a certain flavour of a brand they sold. He told me it was out
of his hands and their stock was dictated from on high. Even gave me the
    number to contact.

They have them in bridge I believe. Gives you twice the chance of crossing
to the other side. Especially if is a rubber bridge.

Ah, right. For things like that I've used Maxim - not Isotonic, but then
none of the complex carb drinks are - but it seems to do the job. I tried
some of those sachets of goo on my mountain marathon last year, because we
were travelling ultra-light and drinking from streams. They're fucking
    horrible.

And a lot more besides. Having worked briefly at Tesco's head office,
I was surprised at just how much stock content and marketing stuff is
decided and executed at local, or even branch, level. It's clear to me
that retail management is in fact a very demanding job, particularly
    at the higher levels.

Of course, it pays shit, but there you go.
