Dave Silver Spares website oddity

  1. I've just tried logging on to check some prices.

    I click on "Genuine Spares" and get this:

    (STARTS)

    #!/usr/bin/perl

    #This code is copyright Simon McGregor 1998-99
    #Use of this code without permission is prohibited
    #Modification of this code without permission is prohibited

    # Perl script to navigate the catalogue tree
    # input consists of the "cat" field with a text value corresponding to
    the catalogue name

    require "Cgi-Lib.pl";
    require "FSiteCommon.pl";
    require "Currency.pl";

    #this is a script intended to parse a special html page with ForeSite
    tags in it
    #the page gets printed out as designed, except for the tags which are
    replaced with
    #appropriate PERL variables relating to the product database

    #define statements

    $HTMLFILE = "CatTemplate.htm"; #basic template file
    $THISDOC = "Catalogue.pl"; #the name of this file
    $TEMPLATELISTFILE = "templates.txt"; #file containing list of HTML
    template files for different levels
    $opt_radio_entries=18; #maximum list length for
    radio buttons on optiform

    #Subroutines follow... They are:
    #radio
    #listoption
    #EntriesForm
    #ProcessTag
    #SetUpHash

    #FindEntries:
    sub FindEntries {
    my (@bits,@fields,$categories,$result,$name);
    %entryindex=();
    $matchtext=quotemeta($input{cat});
    while(($key,$val)=each(%catalogue))

    (and a lot more besides)

    Erm, wtf?????

    Same for other categories on their site. Is it just me, or anyone else?

    I'm fascinated why you think it would have anything to do with the
    browser...

    fascinated?

    Surely the answer is obvious.

    no, no, no - I mean the answer as to why SteveH thinks it has
    something to do with the browser. Which is - as I said - obviously
    that he knows **** all about web apps.
    I'd say execution rights have been lost, rather than perl itself being
    AWOL.

    fine - and whatever you do, don't turn on the lights when you enter a
    dark page.

    Hmmm. I think Dave Silver could be in trouble as our token cripple can't get
    his wheelchair into some of the webpages.

    yeah, sure, but they're "for dummies", not "for cretins who think
    moving to Wales is a good idea and the working in a shop is a good
    career".

    no, but you're missing the point - I'm not taking Steve to task for
    being thick - I'm taking Dan to task for failing to spot that Steve is
    thick.
