Mine seems to be stuck on "immobilise" only mode. The remote fob LED
lights up when you press the button, but no reaction from bike. Is it
possible for the remote battery to be flat enough to not send the
signal, but still light up the LED?

    any other ideas?

it's been a low-level pain since I've had the bike (nearly three years
now), but this is the first time it's completely crapped out.
    I haven't - I'd mislaid the manual, and couldn't remember the "secret"
    - I'll try that later, ta.

I'd love to, but my insurers won't cover me without some sort of alarm.

I'm going to be selling the bike soon anyway.

I've now got a Meta alarm.

It may be 'better' but I'm finding it bloody confusing to work out how to
arm the alarm - as opposed to arm immobiliser, but no alarm, alarm but no
    motion sensor etc etc

It's only got one button - you'd think it would be easy - but it's not.

Mine does this when the battery on the *bike* is a bit flat - tha alarm goes
into some sort of sleep mode, presumably to not drain the battery any
further, and the only way to wake it up is to hold the fob very close to
where the alarm unit is mounted on the bike

Is this the blade you're selling, btw?

I found turning the bike on worked. It sets the alarm off, but then you can
push the button to turn it off.

Much easier than waving your fob at it in the hope it'll notice.

Certainly the only way to go when you're not quite sure where the fitters
    have installed your alarm ...

  8. "dwb" <> came forth with the following in
    uk.rec.motorcycles

30secs after ignition turn off it self activates the immobiliser with no
motion sensor - single indicator flash
If you press the button within that 30secs it enables the alarm and
immobilser - two flashes on the indicators
If you press the button whilst ignition is on it turns on the hazard lights
    IIRC

could be that - the bike battery was completely flat - currently
nursing back to health on the Optimate.
yup. I never use it, now I've got the 7R. I will be replacing it with
something else, but not sure what.

Mine seems to be stuck on "immobilise" only mode. The remote fob LED
If all else fails, then "de-spike". That is disconnect alarm internal battery,
and alarm PCB from wiring loom: leave for some hours, then re-connect. See
the DataTool web-site for detailed instructions..
Practical difficulties not mentioned include unsrewing the security screws
and unplugging connectors in a cramped space without causing any damage.
