Datatool Duo immobilisor?

Discussion in 'UK Motorcycles' started by Harry Bloomfield, Nov 6, 2004.

  1. Hi,

I've been asked to refit a Datatool Duo bike immobiliser unit to a
friends 'new' bike. Does anyone know the function of the wires please?

I have worked out the following so far:-

6 x thick blacks are in pairs via relays to isolate 3x supplies,
    shorted when immobilisor is disabled.

2x thinner blacks are to ground.

Black + black/white to the sensor keyswitch.

The LED remains wired up via black, green and white wires.

Which leaves a red, a yellow and 2x orange wires still to work out the
function of. Any help appreciated via a personal email.

On the Veto Evo it is:

    1 Red Permenant live
    2 Orange LED
3 Yellow pair Interupt the starter relay

Not exactly the same but reverse 2 & 3 and you may have your answer, I can
ask the SO to scan the relevent page if you need it.

  3. Ovenpaa was thinking very hard :
I've now opened up the case to trace the PCB...

    I got it as:-

    Red = permanent live positive.

The 2x orange wires serve the same function of detecting ingnition on
plus an attempt to hot wire it, or the tampering with some item of
    equipment or similar.

So I've basically got that part sorted and working on the bench, but
I'm somewhat stumped by the yellow wire. This can only be an alarm
output, but the voltage on it wonders all over the place whether the
alarm has been triggered, is off, on and armed.

The LED and little internal sounders are doing what the user manual
suggest they should be doing, with the right inputs.
    Yes please..
