Sixteen months after I highsided on a stretch of bitumen that had lost all
of its aggregate (is the embedded gravel called that everywhere?), the
department has laid another bit of bitumen over it. Hoo fuckin ray. It
should last a couple of weeks in summer with log trucks turning on it.

They've also spread a thin layer of bitumen and loose gravel all the way
over Bust Me Gall Hill and Break Me Neck Hill. The log trucks and useless
bloody four-wheel drives have continued their usual practice of trying to
straight-line the bends, resulting in accumulations of near-invisible gravel
    criss-crossing the normal bike lines.

So, if you're travelling in Tassie, be very careful on the twisties between
    Sorell and Buckland.

  4. Came back from Lonny that way yesterday (ie - Scottsdale, St Helens,
etc). Seemed an improvement on what was there a few weeks ago I
    thought?

    Cheers

Maybe they've cleaned up the gravel.
