Damige Down...

Lot of blokes here know Rupert (Damige) from a few yrs back now round here
on his Streetfighter Zook.

Sent Roop an SMS tonight about a Marysville run tomorrow, and got a call
from Roops phone, it was his son so knew something was wrong. Roop has had a
big crash on his XR today out Narby. Front lifted, rear spun round and shit
happened.

Lots of internal injuries, ribs, punctured lung, etc. He is in ICU, thats
all I've found out so far. Didnt quiz Azza too much, but asked how his dad
was doing and he said not good

Jodie is doing ok, but as to be expected, quite stressed.
Just thought some of you know him and would wanna know.

Will call them tomorrow and see how things are.

Got SMS from Jodie today, hes doing much better...

They got him out of bed..

So much for not doing too well, not that Im complaining...

 

Spoke with Roop tonite. HE got home today.

He doesnt sound well at all, and the hospital he was in doesnt sound like
the best place he could have gone. They cant even tell him which ribs are
broken...

but hes home, and gettin there.

 

He should be able to tell them which ribs are hurting. As it was
explained to me when I was at hospital with severe rib soreness.. They
take an x-ray - if they can see a break, the rib is broken, if they
can't, it's fractured.

With me, in Inverell Hospital, it was "The XRay machine isn't working
properly so judging by the pain and the number of broken edges I can
see, you have a shirt-full of broken ribs".
Couple of weeks later, I took myself to Armidale and was told it was 5
broken ribs, and I could expect the pain to last 12 weeks.
It did.
The soon to be ligit missus suggested it might be time to sell the
chookie. I did, and have had a pain free life since.

 

Haven't seen or heard from Damige in years... Give him my best regards
and a "get better soon", please.

Went and saw him last night, hes still in mega pain.. Them ribs are really
hurting.

Hes stuck at home recovering until April.
