Can anyone clarify (if at all possible) if the specifications of the Honda
Blackbird discs vs a pre-'99 CBR900 'Blade (wot I want forks off of) is as
below, and specifically if you know the thickness of the disks as well.
    Many thanks if you can.

Twizzle tells me for my project he can mount ANY disc to ANY wheel (hence
Blackiebird wheel and even perhaps discs might work with a Blade set of
forks and calipers, with spacers where required), but for the Blade calipers
to work on them the dimensions are critical (he meant the width of the disc
specifically I suppose but also I guess the diameter of it).

    Closest I get is
    http://www.superblackbird.info/specifications.php
Brakes Front 310mm dual disks with "dual combined" three-piston
    calipers

    "but whats the thickness?"

    http://www.cbr900rr.wz.cz/spec99/1999_CBR900RR_FireBlade.PDF
Front: 310mm dual disc with 4-piston calipers and sintered metal pads
So...it at least LOOKS possible I can get away with this match provided I
get CBR forks that match this spec and they fit in the calipers etc ?

    Thanks

    Antoine says...
Why not mount the discs from the Fireblade on the Blackbird wheel in the
Blade forks. That way you know they'll be the right diameter and
    thickness.

I can almost guarantee that the mounting holes in the 'Bird wheel will
line up perfectly with the 'Blade discs. Honda are good like that. All
you'd then need to do is sort the spacing from the centre line of the
bike to line them up with the calipers.

I know for a fact that a 99 Blade does not use the same discs as a
    'Bird.

    Nice one, many thanks.
I don't actually have 'em yet but at least I know that I probably do need
them now, along with calipers and forks.....though I have my eye on an
upcoming auction that might be of use.

Then I just need to figure what to do with the blackbird forks, discs and
calipers. Give them to an ugly person I think, to make them feel better
    about themselves.
