I went to a website thanks to this newsgroup and got details for testing the
functionality of my stator using the RED, BLUE and GREEN wires for voltage
and resistance. the results are as follows:

    Voltages : WHITE WIRE:68; BLUE WIRE: 85
    Resistance (ohms): GREEN-WHITE(337); BLUE-WHITE(83); BLUE-GREEN(422)

Can anyone decipher these tentative results?

    thanks

Further to what Kaybearjr has offered up, there is a wealth of info on the
CX bikes at the Turbocharged Motorcycle Int'l Owners' Assoc...
www.turbomotorcycles.org The stator is a frequent problem with the
CX-Turbos, and apparently extends to the non-turbos CX's as well. You'll
find a lot of useful stator-specific info there for the CX, in addition to
how to diagnose/fix or find a replacement.

    Good luck.

THanks for the reply...I got my information from the above site for testing
amd replacing the stator...it looks like a big job and I'll have to spend
som dough to have the work done because I just don't want to expend the time
    and aggravation to try this.....

The problem is poor performance and the bike really would accelerate without
major stumbling. i have cleaned the carbs, fuel system and then I started
looking at the ignition aspect of this bike......STATOR YUK....

she is behaving like one would if there was a stator problem...and she will
not go much faster than 55mph...

but she cranks up just fine, idles forever, and the battery isnt
    discharging...

    thanks
