Custom Parts Woes

I made a mistake a while back and had some blackbird forks bought for 175
from ebley who I consulted for parts for a custom bike which is ongoing
build. This goes back a few yrs. They came with new stanchions to build up
    so basically were/are as-new.

Anyway I have dumbly now realised that these forks anyway really arent at
all well suited for a custom project. ( in fact I have kind of known this
was probably going to be a problem, but had little cause to do anything
    about it).
In fact they are butt ugly. Now that I finally have a reliable and sound
custom builder called Twizzle whose got the parts into a semblance of how it
would look etc has really brought it home.....the other builders before that
were fuckheads and spent 3 years creating £500 worth of scrap metal yolks
    and sweet f-all otherwise.

I am not sure what options I have except speak nicely to Ebley - which I
have banged an email off to initiate, OR...
Ebay em then get another set (note the yolks are build so the circumference
or what-have-you must be pretty close I guess?).... OR some hairbrained idea
I had that mabe its possible to have two legs of the same side, and maybe
get a different set of calipers that might match the mounting lugs on BOTH
sides (not like the dual braking crap that is there at present). There might
be good reasons why this is a no-brainer though.

Stupid predicament to be in, and my fault for opting so early for the wrong
items without realling specing it properly.

But regardless its a current problem that needs fixing somehow. I suppose
compared to the other parts its NOT that expensive. But the forks + brakes
did cost a bit so I'm keen to get at least a fair amount of what I put into
em, if I only have to go out and get another set.
I am not into going half-arsed into finishing it now.....and its seems
compromising on leaving them would be exactly that.

Any and I mean absolutely any ideas what I should think about doing?
    Cheers.

Err... Take this in the spirit it was intended, old chap.

Try rephrasing the whole thing in English. As it stands it's close to
    unintelligible.

So you bought some blackbird forks for a custom, had them rebuilt and
    now you don't like them....

After that sorry you've lost me.

Ok. Apologies as I'm tired and Ive had alcohol in moderation.

    So start again.

What options do I have other than the blackbird forks, ie what ought I do
about sorting out something very similar that will fit instead?

One of my hair brained ideas was whether it might be possible to put a
different fork leg to the one that is the messiest in relation to the dual
braking mounts etc, if you get me.
Even a fork leg off an opposite side, in replacement for that fork leg ???
Do you reckon that might be possible, and do you reckon on that side where
its not intended to be fit there would be any chance of getting a brake
    caliper to suite.

Or is it good ol'Ebay just to flog em, and simply by getting a more suited
    set from something else.

And one of my other questions was sort of on the lines of, is it easy to
obtain forks of similar dimensions, so they would suite the same yokes the
    blackbirds are built into.

    Cheers

Any pair of forks with the same tube diameter as the blackbirds will fit
the yokes, but unless they're the same length the steering geometry will
all go to pot and of course the damping and spring rates will need
    sorting.

Of course as its a custom non of the above might actually matter...

If you have not got the first idea about what forks to use on a custom then
you are buggered mate! Yes the yokes have to have a very close fit to the
fork legs so they can close up correctly.

If as you say you are using Twisel, creator of some of the maddest chops out
there, he is capable of making ./ getting made some yokes but who ever does
    it will need the forks.

By the way your post makes most of mine intelligible

Once Twizzle's finished it, it will be stunning if his other bikes are
anything to go by. The man's a barking mad genius

Yep at last you've made it clear. Stick with it. If Twizzle appears not to
be worried by your choice then do not fret. Callipers can always have a
carrier braket made up. If you change the forks you will most likely need to
    change the yokes

A bit harsh I think AJ. If no-one goes and tries these things for
themselves, then no more custom bikes get built and the whole innovation
process falls down. You'll find every bike will look like the last one
and custom/streetfighter bike design will stagnate.

There are shitloads of trick bikes out there that have been an absolute
nightmare to build for their owners, thye bought the wrong parts, or
parts that they thought might do the job and ended up spending more than
they intended, but they persevered and got them finished in the end.

We've all made **** ups when building bikes from bits of different
bikes, and this ****-up doesn't seem as bad as some of the ones I've
    made in the past.

that's a bike? I assumed that the colon after "Bob Mc" implied that it
