I managed easily enough with three kids and an increasingly less mobile
wife for many years whilst going through a minor fleet of not very
narrow Volvos. It's a matter of attitude and preparation innit. Mind
you it was a kin sight easier when I had the Transit.

I'm not saying it's impossible to load a car with kids but if things
move on to make life easier for parents then (imo) it's a good thing.
It also keeps the cunts away from normal people and reduces the
chances of a screaming brat from kicking out and banging a car door
    into another car.

That one is easy, you put rubbers down the edge of your door and you
take no damage at all. Well hardy none, it does accumulate over time.

I thought it was under discussion by the DOT. I also thought that
several driving schools taught motorway driving after someone had
passed their test (Mind you, not with L plates).

My parent and thousands of others managed it fine.

And I don't understand why you need to take the whole family to Tesco.

I was quite happy to do more advanced courses after I passed my
driving test. My instructor was fab though, a lesbian, but still fab.

  7. Haven't you ever heard the classic sketch by Jack Dee, called (IIRS)
"Why do parents take their kids to Sainsbury's to hit them?"?

My parents managed with a motorbike and sidecar until I was about 3
years old but that doesn't mean everyone should be doing the same
    today.
Nor did I until I sussed out that wife taking kids to shops means
    husband gets some peace.

So did mine, so did I. However in the way I do what I can to make the
life of my children easier than mine was I'm also happy for supermarkets
to make the life of parents easier.

Until you've been a parent you don't know what hard work it is. And,
reserving some spaces for them is hardly a major imposition.
    Because there isn't childcare available?
Because the father can't cope with the children on his own?
Because the mother is climbing the walls and needs to do something, get
some social interaction with something other than her children?

    Who knows? Learn some tolerance.

I think it ought to be taught and assessed as part of post-test test.
