I fail to see how removing my foot from the brake when someone has
stopped behind me could lead to a 'dazzle.'
Can I use TOG's four rear-enders as a reason why?
Just because you prefer to stop using your hand brake alone in traffic
jams doesn't mean I have to, Ben.
I've only used them once in about 3 years and that was only for about
10 minutes when it so uber-foggy on the M20 that to work out where I
was I ran the left tyres over the rumble strip on the hard shoulder.

Don't some modern cars do the hazards automatically if you stand on the
    brakes?

  3. I do that. But as you say, *after* I am safe. ANd I am very thankful for
high level brake lights; they've saved me from some nasties when I've seen
    through the cars in front.
Christ, I do hope not. More gidgets to take away any thought from driving.

  4. I'll admit to using them in the presence of tail gaters. And a couple of
times in *torrential* rain on the M1 - that go so bad that I ended up doing
    about 20 mph.

Heh, not all people are multi-tasking. It's like people that can't
drive and hold and use a mobile phone at the same time.

  6. Only if you can find a way of working the brakelights on a car that's
    parked, locked and switched off.

    That makes three.

Oh, and then two others were when I was actually braking myself, and the
person behind wasn't so sharp on the anchors.

    That makes one, then.

Don't go to Lourdes, then. That could result in one death threat you
    REALLY don't want...

Switching on the fog lights should cut the radio out and start a loud
and very irritating computer voice repeating "slow down to 30mph in
fog" until the lights were switched off again. That might work.

I'm proud to say that I had front and rear fog lights lit up for a
while this morning. It was nice thick fog traveling along part of the
Barrow to Kendal road and due to the speed at which a lot of drivers
rip along there I chose to upset the likes of yourself & Krusty (1) by
making myself feel immune to being butt fucked by a sales droid in a
Mondeo rushing to the first meeting of the day.

I'll use the rear fog lights every time the visibility is below where
I feel happy to drive at 70mph but as soon as a car is settled in
behind I turn them off. I don't use them in rain because I don't think
rain fucks visibility as much as fog and if they were designed for use
in rain they'd be rain lights rather than fog lights iyswim.

    (1) Along with any other stupid **** that thinks increasing their
visibility in dense fog is wrong.

I didn't make my point very well. I don't have a problem with fog
lights in fog. It's the chavs who think they are a fashion accessory in
town that annoy me. Or the retards that clearly don't even know where
the off switch is during the day.

I can't imagine for one moment why anyone would consider going there
twice. Once, out of curiosity, is understandable, but twice is
    bordering on lunacy.

  15. Ski resort nearby, skiing cancelled due to too much snow or not enough
    snow, nothing else to do.

And there *is* a very good and cheap kart track on the edge of town.

On a business visit to Denver I had the joy of walking round a merkin

Later in the week, when asked to fill in a questionnaire on what 10

car parking is a contact sport" was the first of three joke things
entirely unconnected with the 5 intensive days of company propaganda wot
    I wrote about.
