Cruisers and anti-depressants

Discussion in 'Australian Motorcycles' started by Diogenes, Dec 18, 2011.

  1. Agreed. When you are on a bike you have to focus on riding and nothing
else which is a very zen like activity. It lets all the crap in your
head stop spinning in circles. I love it.

I think what "the wise ones" here have agreed upon is that that one
just has to cut through the crap in one's head and just get out there.
Probably easier said than done, but I don't think there's any other
way. It's what I'll focus on in future and see how I go.

What are we going to do for therapy when we can't afford oil anymore?

Well, the good thing is that motorbikes (mine's only a 650cc) don't
guzzle a lot of the liquid gold, so we'll be the last ones still able
    to afford therapy. :)

And if you're a veteran, and you can get your depression recognised as
a war-caused condition, and if you can get bike riding recognised as a
valid therapy for treating said depression, you might just be able to
get the guvmint to pay of your petrol... Just a thought... ;-)

By then they'll have sorted out the electric thing. Bikes will morph.
Bikers will morph. Maybe long distance biking will become uncommon,
but shorter, commuting and recreational biking will be doing fine
    within the electic paradigm.

You will miss the sound of a TRX revving its lungs out? Fret not.
Electicity can drive speakers and amplifiers. You will be able to
dial up dozens of recordings of different bike sounds on the bike of
    your choice.

We are only limited by our imagination. You can see what imagination
has done to bikes so far, therefore you can _bet_ the bike future will
    be alive and weird. :)

  16. Yppers. I find at times I don't want to leave the house. But always
(ALWAYS) find that I am glad that I do. Push through the barrier and
    you'll feel a lot better.

    No.

We are going to be limited, should we live that long, by regulation.

To make a really useful electric bike, it will come as standard with a
fairly substantial amount of smarts, built in.

Since the "smarts" will be available, the powers that be will force all
sorts of stuff to be regulated.....

    No wheelies!

No spinning up of drive wheels!

No locking of brakes and sliding!

    No exceeding the speed limits!

No extreme cornering! (Corner speed advisory signs will be replaced
    with electronic speed limits.)

Is the rider too getting excited... stop the bike until they calm down!

I tell you, it will be slash the wrists time......
