and I did! Left home at 05:15 in thick fog, by 7:30 I was on the Great
Ocean Road between Lorne and Apollo bay watching the sun rise. Took the
long way home and got home in time for a late lunch. A tad over 600km
    for the morning.

Might be difficult. You'd obviously, need to try one on, but I'd be
surprised if you find a new Nevada in any Guzzi dealership.

Frankly, I wouldn't buy a new Nevada anyway.

Typically, if its one of a new shipment, the dealer will ask for 15 or
16 plus on-road costs. If the Nevada has been lounging about the
showroom for 12 to 14 months, you should get it for just over 10 grand.

There are second hand Nevadas which go for much less money, tend to have
some extras attached and they aren't the kind of bike that will have
been flogged mercilessly by its previous owner.

Currently, there is quite a nice looking one on the U.C. website, but
it's in Kyogle, NSW. A 2005 model, with 42,000kms, the seller is asking
six grand, but I'd expect you could get it for well under.

BTW, my try-on with a Rocket III, I sat on it, grabbed the bars, gave a
mightly heave, and not a sausage happened! It sat there on its side
    stand, sniggering at me.

    regards,

  8. In one of those rare events in my life, common sense kicked in.

Was planning a quick spin over to Scottsdale today (the long way - as
the Sidlings is probably still contaminated with snow/ice).

It's now midday - and 3 degrees. I'm not going anywhere.

theres no point spending another $10k+ on something thats going to bend...
and anything modern will cost a bomb... thats if you can get insurance, which
by now will probably cost more than the bike.

Will be interesting to see what the insurance costs for the next bike....
:) I'm not one to send in insurance claims for every little thing, so
hopefully my next policy won't be too dreadful... :)

The last bad smash I had a decade ago doubled my insurance rates , back
to rating one now and it certainly buggered the pan-head at the time
which was an unfavourable idea according to Sgio

I have made 1 at fault claim in 25yrs (which counts for **** all really)
which was this year, for a pissy $2800 (wish I knew it was going to be that
little - original quote was $5800....), and now when lookin into insurance
on the Corolla doing it without a claim shows me $350, with 1 claim shows
    me $800..

my next policy won't be too dreadful... :)

  20. Nope. Read my review it should be in the archives. But I do get tired
of hearing about you crashing because you come across as quite a nice
    person.
