I did get passed by 4 half houses though - making 2 whole houses.

The trucks weren't nose to tail, was a while between them, so maybe it
was 4 half houses and somewhere 4 families were saying "But I thought
    *you* packed it"

the joys of having a pregnant wife, well more of the fact their is no
enjoyment anymore, and may never again.

I learn my lesson the punishment is working

ummm, congratulations on the soon to be? :) first?

Whilst life will never be the same again, I firmly believe the pluses
outweight the minuses, though that may be difficult to believe right now.

Of course in most cases pregnancy does not enforce abstinence...

Yep, the guys involved in moving that big bucket[1] were very
considerate. Moike and I were glad we were overtaking on bikes, rather
than V8 fuel guzzlers - the extra width could have been interesting!

Ha! After the first (and last effort) with the Piaggio, I'm not so sure
the service people know how to service it, let alone impart that
    information.

[Now desperately searching for a decent workshop manual for a Piaggio X9
    Evolution 500cc]

I wouldn't worry about that; it'll be a fair while before you had enough
sleep to think about risking it again :).

Yes, yes, and yes. The Nullarbor is no big deal though. Just another road.
    Try thinking of Adelaide-Perth as 14 x 200 km rides. :)
