I just phoned them up to enquire about the rear shock spring on this Ohlins I recently bought. As I only weigh about 11 1/2 stone in full bike kit, I needed to know if the spring was correct. I was put through to sales, where a friendly bloke called Steve dealt with my enquiry and told me he'd contact their top technician who was away testing at Brands Hatch and call me back within an hour. I set my mind to give them a call back tomorrow afternoon. Less than 5 minutes pass and a certain Mr Steve Harris[1] himself calls back to give me the answer I needed. After a brief chit-chat about the BSB Press day at Donington at the weekend and Jeremy McWilliams chances in BSB, he informs me that the spring I have is too stiff and would be unsuitable. One brand new Ohlins spring, to suit my weight is 30 quid plus VAT fitted to my shock if I drop it in to them. They can do it while I wait and would be happy to help with advice on starting points for damping adjustment as well. Top marks for efficiency and overall pleasantness, Mr Harris. I'll be seeing you tomorrow. [1] For it was he who took my original call.
