Ok this is my first time posting and know relitivly little about the technical details of motorcycle racing so thought i would ask you guys for some help. I am the proud owner of a 1996 Ducati 996S. The thing is amazing, and along with that my family own several harleys and a buel so most time on the bike is track time. Becase of this it only has 1500 miles on it. The other week after a great ride in the mountains my dad and i were riding through town when a woman stepped out from behind a parked car and in an effort not to hit her I went down. All plastic damage except the clutch lever and gear shift. Isurace wants to total the bike out with 00 in damage. The shop says they will deop their estimate to the total value if we want to fix it. My question to you is do we fix the 996 or take a 00 check and get a new Ducati? i love the 996S and couldn't imaginge anyting nicer. Please help!! thanks niccolo aieta Boulder, Colorado
