I saw the aftermath of a nasty looking crash on the A1203 today near
Shadwell, looks like a black people carrier turned across a
motorcyclist, bike was a mess, fluids everywhere but did not look like
blood. Plod in attendance. Anyone know if the rider was OK?

That would rather depend on whether I wanted to hear stories of blood
and gore or, as is the case here, was genuinely interested in knowing
whether a fellow human being is OK. Thanks for the input, though.

Plod take a dim view of people stopping, and to be honest I do not
usually slow down and rubberneck either because it seems like bad
form. Sorry I asked, next time I will just carry on wondering if the
poor sod is alive or not.

Oh, in that case, he's fine. No worries.
    You're welcome.

    Sound plan.

The problem is that lots of people kick the bucket each day. So unless
it's someone who regularly posts, or the nearest-and-dearest of one,
then it tends not to get posted. This isn't callousness (although that's
not a problem on UKRM) it's life and it sounds like you need to get one.

That's what I've been doing for years and it must work cos I'm not dead
yet. WGAF whether he lived or died, as long as it's not one of your
    mates or family.

    Callous sod.

Guy just wants to know what his favourite flowers were, so he can leave
an appropriate floral tribute at the site tomorrow.

So the pikeys can swipe them to sell at those dodgy hand car wash places
that appear the second a petrol station closes down?

    *shudder*

I used to live on The Highway. There's something about that road, almost
mystical. More crashes than you can, er, shake a stick at. The only place in
London where I think speed cameras are worth it, there's a massive volume of
traffic, and lots of selfish cunty commuting City / Docklands types in BMWs.
I have no idea why they don't extend the SPECS from the Limehouse Link all the
    way to Tower Bridge.

In fact, it's the site of my one and only SMIDSY. The taxi driver said he
wouldn't have realised I had hit him if his passenger hadn't told him. I know
he didn't look in his mirror because I was looking at him as one does, my
observation was there but I had no way out.

Having smelt him, if that was his motivation, he'd be asking about the
    rider.

A LBTH parking attendant was busy writing the somewhat bent 900 Hornet
a ticket as we went past at 9:35.

I've ridden in via there every day for nine years now, and this was my
    second. (possibly third)

    What about those on Blackbirds?
    Two reasons:

1: they only put cameras in the tunnel after four arseholes topped
themselves whilst being chased by plod.[1]
2: the average speed from the Link to Tower Bridge is about 4mph in
    the morning.

[1] They weren't in there when I got nicked, that's for sure.

Yebbut maybe it's different if you're passing through. On average, I'd see
one a month, including all vehicle types.
    Oh. *thinks*

Old, fat selfish cunty commuting types?
Yebbut there are times during the day when the traffic flows fucking fast. In
the evening rush hour, the rush to get out of town and tired minds can cause
carnage. The average speed may be low, but everyone canes it as much as
possible when possible, to try and get across lights.

I don't GAF any more, as now I live and work in the sticks.

  17. I think we should have a whip-round to buy one of those tacky little
white plastic crosses to stick on the verge. Anna floral tribute in the

Did the plod close the road for half a day ?.
They always do that if somebody dies.
If the road was still open the victims were still alive.
