Covering the brake

    I only cover it when filtering, or approaching occupied side roads.
    I always do mid to high 70s (actual) when passing plod on motorways,
    assuming the outside lane's empty. I figure they're more likely to
    assume your bike/car is fully legal if you're blatantly speeding under
    their noses. Haven't been stopped so far (touch wood).

    I cover the back when filtering at slow speeds.

    Reasoning because I can control a rear wheel slide but not a front if
    I panic and lock it. Worked so far.

    I don't filter at more than that through stationary traffic and rarely
    on motorways unless there is a bloody big gap.

    Call me a wuss but I like this bike without fucked fairings.

    I'd never filter at 30 mph through stationary traffic. Seen a couple of
    flying scooterists in front of me on my commute when passengers/drivers open
    doors. In other traffic I don't like filtering at more than +15mph relative
    to other traffic unless I've got a cob on in which I case I don't care.

    Besides the mirrors fold in before the fairings get touched. I got the t
    shirt.

    Yeah, but don't sit in front of an unmarked car at a set of lights and
    then stomp off down a dual carriageway at 130. The logic can't be
    extrapolated that far, trust me.

    I can guess pretty easily. 1st gear on the GSXR will go up to a lot
    of mph. I just never change out of first and don't rev too high.

    LC YPVS back in '84 - '85.
