  1. I can't get either version to play. Other wmv files are ok, but these
    two aren't recognised in WMP.

Works here. Even on the Mac, which is usually a bit funny about .wmv
    files.

Watched it a couple of times now, and can't really see what you did
    wrong.

They admitted themselves that the speed wasn't excessive, and the
filtering wasn't, IMHO, dangerous. Pretty tame compared with what you
can see on the M1 (south) around here.

No, it was a scene from Deliverence with Burt Reynolds when a couple of
mates went fishing in the mountains and came across a couple of hill
billies (or is that billys) who were intent on having some fun after
declaring that one of them "had a pretty mouth"

*sigh*, yes I have seen this film. Just thought I'd use this as an
opportunity to alert people to the sort of activities matey boy gets up
    to.

  7. In triped:
I think we both were! See
    http://www.insureyourmotor.com/car_insurance/rebabilitationact.asp which
provides an insurance industry view; in a nutshell, the endorsement, i.e.
offence code and points, is not covered, however the fine is covered by the
act. Therefore, after five years, the amount of information that you are
    *obliged* to provide is reduced.

    Cheers

How the fsck did Veggie get hold of the film?

I didn't see that it was dangerous and am pretty much in agreement
with PaulC. It's not as if the pair of you were going nuts on both the
    speeding and the filtering.

I think it's more of a case that the coppers could nick two for the
work of one and increase their stats.

  10. It is far too easy to do. If I put ear plugs in my average speed on a
long journey goes up about 15mph. And in my old Toyota 3litre Surpa
turbo nutter bastard there was bugger all difference to the perceived
speed between 70 and 100mph unless you looked at dials or the traffic
    was blocking you.

sure. But this is not what I've been advised to do by the relevant
professionals. As others have stated, it comes down to my having to
prove the cops were mistaken, which is not an easy thing to do.

heh, but that is what it would come down to if we go with "not
    guilty", isn't it?

the problem with "without due care" is that it's horribly subjective
i.e. if the magistrate just thinks it is, then it is.

thing is, I'd noticed them, but because I was only doing about 80 at
the time, I assumed they just wanted past...

That wasn't what Ivan was getting at. He was correctly pointing out
that only a very foolish person would publish a video of matters that
are still subject to ongoing court proceedings.
