Could you pass the test?

Technically, I can supervise a car learner. The thought of being ballast
in the best part of a tonne of metal, piloted by someone that can't
quite control it seems a little scary. This all depends on the level of
competence of the learner and the size of the car though.

  2. Err, no. That only tells you how many questions you've completed. You
need to click the "next" button to get the result ;o)

  3. I'd want dual controls as an absolute minimum.

Pretty hard to get a cigarette into your mouth while you're biting down on

Start on a *very* big empty car park on a sunday
and get them to throw the thing 'round a bit and do emergency stops etc.
    Helps no end.

I'm not sure that it does actually. Are there any rules concerning
learner car drivers and passengers, that is in addition to the
instructor. There never used to be, when I was learning it was
customary to start your lesson dropping off the previous pupil and end
it at the next pupil's pickup.
    I agree fully but... I don't see why a learner shouldn't carry a
licence holding pillion who can then give them a post ride critique.
They are allowed to ride solo so why is carrying a pillion any worse? I
see it as a throwback to the old days when there was no real incentive
for learner motorcyclists to take a full test.

But I've got my licence already so shouldn't really GAF.

    Bear says...
I took herself out on her CG. Fucking awful it was, the CG is a pile
of shit at the bst of times, but with my lardy arse on the front and
her rather nice one on the back it was utterly terrible.

I'd want remote controls with stereo cameras. Cars just scare me, as
    Wizard can confirm.

Yeah. The brakes are utterly fucking appalling. I wondered why she
appeared to be favouring the back brake over the front, until I rode
the CG. The front brake results in FRN, if lucky, the back will at
    least slow you, a bit.

Utterly shite, wasn't it. I took my bike test 25 years ago, and I
still got 34 out of 35. How stupid would you have to be to fail?

I'd just want a good NCAP rating, and full airbags. Crashes are
    exciting.
