I'm chuffed that I've got a decent sized bike again.

The conversation with the mechanic reminded me of Champ funnily enough.
Basically he said that there's none of this running-in at 1000rpm, 2000
rpm, etc, bollox. Just look after the bike for the first 300 odd km and
run the engine in as you'd normally ride a bike.

I'm normally careful for 100 miles and then start to ease the revs up
gradually until the first service and once that's done it's ok to ride
    it however I want.

There's no reason why you can't get rid of the chicken strips within
    10 miles though.

It wasn't Bonwick's bike, was it?
