Cost of Ski accomodation

You could buy our entire apartment block for that. Several times over.

 

It has to be a Billionaire Pad. You couldn't pay that and make a Chalet
business out of it.

On the subject, where would you recommend for the 3rd week of April. Like
the 19th on for a week? Being the end of season.

 

Can't _think_ why he'd be selling up...

I didn't think one could buy chalets in France. Anyway, I expect a
Russian will snap it up.

 

Hmm I've been there. Great area but the resort, such as it is, offers
little.

 

Not surprised. Places in any of the resorts in France are bloody
expensive now.

 

Quite - which is why we stay in Samoens.

 

Engelberg season ends the 3rd week in _May_. Resort runs may be
closed, dependant on temps, but the upper runs are normally very
reliable through to the end of April at least. Not much cruisy stuff,
but plenty of steep and off-piste.

Or as Colin suggests, the Grand Massif, which is where I spent the end
of season repping for about four years running. Tignes or VT are also
reliable at this time.

 

Hmm friends bought an apartment in La Tania in the 90's and sold it 10 years
later in the 00's to fund a place in Austria. They hardly made a Euro on it.

 

Not as posh an area, is it? Even the domain name of the above URL has
got it right for once. Courchevel is full of snobs and Russians.
