    Hi,

Action MC are selling new fireblades for $19,500
The same bike is being sold in US showrooms for $11,500

Now, the AU/US dollar is pretty close these days so why are we paying
60% more for the same bike ??

Probably at least in part because the Yen is not the USD !! The US
probably contracted to buy X zillion of them at the then going exchange
rate 6-9months ago. It's now changed.

Probably also because Honda Australia contracted to buy them at a
particular forex rate 6months ago as well...

Now this may not have anything to do with it but I'll throw it out there
    anyway.

A few weeks ago,i got one of those American GreenCard Lottery adds on my
browser and having nothing better to do at the time, thought I'd have a go
and see what I'd have to do. I put some credentials in including my mobile
number (probably a stupid mistake) and when it came time to pay I backed up
and wiped all my info. When I got to the Pay part, it was all in Euro Dollars
and not US Dollars so hence the reason I backed up.
Anyway,a week later I got a mobile call from a chick in NY about this green
card and I said I was just playing around with the application and had no
intentions on applying but I also asked her why the USA Green card was in
Euro Dollars and Not USD and she told me because the majority of applicants
are from Europe so it was much easier to process due to language barriers.

So, I wonder if, bike sales worldwide are now traded in Euro Dollars rather
than in USD which may explain the big difference in price....otherwise it
just could be that someone is making a nice big dollar out of us.I suspect
    the latter!!
    Cheers

Good idea. As entry to the lottery is free and someone charging you
    is definitely a scammer.
