Coolant hose sizes (1980s Honda)

    What's the deal with the size of Honda's coolant hoses? I took a small
    straight piece and a relaxed 90 degree elbow into a couple automotive and
    hardware stores here in Wisconsin and none had identically-sized hose.

    I found one piece that I can cut both pieces I need out of but it is 3/4"
    while the original hose seems to be around 7/8". Has the old hose just
    stretched over time? I can fight it on there but I want to avoid an
    expensive breakdown on the road.

    You can always buy hoses from Honda. I replaced several last summer and
    paid $16-$24 each.
