Never heard of that. It was IIRC a dog clutch with no dif so mainly
usable for getting out of mud etc.

6th and 7th down are 2WD, but can't legally be used on the road in the UK.

This crowd were at one of the Stafford shows a few years back. They were
doing 'brand new' (zero miles) 1958 Chang Jiangs, that qualified for
    classic tax status.

Looks like they can still do them judging from the comment to the left
    of the prices.

The whole website's quite interesting - they were the providers of the
Ural outfit Mr Pole used on the recent telly prog.

  8. not tight, skint. I've no objection to spending money on essentials, like
    bikes, cars, petrol, spare parts...

I do object to shelling out ever more for just having the thing and not
using it, especially as the roads are ever worse and the money grabbed from
fuel duty and road fund licence just isn't being spent on roads. Lately,
even the roads which have been resurfaced aren't smooth. Riding the bike up
to the MOT place yesterday it's RAF, mind, I might have been a touch
enthusiastic with the air line on the back tyre, have to check that.

  10. You could try it after ther the 15th which is supposedly the first day on
which you can tax things for May. Mind you, you should be able to tax for
April now, but at this stage wouldn't you class that as a waste of money?

  15. well, yes, technically. it depends if I want to use the bike before May.
being as it's SORN at the moment, it's a bit of an obvious pull.

  16. I think it's only 2 days in advance for things that are not currently taxed,
    although it might have changed.
