Coo, isn't it nice when a bike's been overhauled?

Got my K11 back from Brian, the independent specialist near Tonbridge,
    yesterday.

Complete overhaul, so all the filters and fluids including brake
(essential if you want to keep the ABS system happy), valve
clearances, FI check, etc etc and, in this instance, a new set of head
races which is a bugger of a job on an LT because most of the fairing
has to come off. That's normally a £200-250 job on its own, all told,
so the total of £530-odd wasn't bad. Didn't need brake pads, and I'd
stuck a new pair of Bridgestones on the previous week.

Anyway, don't you notice the difference when everything's been done?
Obviously the new tyres and races make it feel more stable, especially
in bends. The bike feels smoother, sweeter, and just more 'together'.
    The brakes are firmer...

Not bad value for a bill that only crops up once every two years, IMHO.

Yep, there's something nice about throwing a bike at a dealer, instead
    of shredding your own hands.

I used to do that with the Blackbird, throw it at Tippetts and let
them work their magic. It used to come back like a different bike,
which is partially why I hung on to it for so long.

    Paul.
