Bought it new in 2000. Sold it 10 months later, on my GPs advice, 'cos my
wrists and back couldn't take the riding position anymore and bought the
CRM.

I'm sure it's a great bike, but those lights don't do it for me.
They're just... funny looking. If only they were rectangular.

Well, I've got 22 months left before I plan to change my current bike,
and a lot can happen in that time.

 

I'm not discounting anyones opinions. After all, you all know a great
deal more about this than I do. My "the lights look funny" style
comment was purely a comment on how the bike looks.

I hope to do shitloads of test rides before I buy a bike. After all,
I will be spending a large amount of CAHS on it.

I can't take anyone seriously who criticises the appearance of a bike
when a GS1150 is on their shopping list It's not a bike to buy for
its looks. But, like Verdi, I've had mine for a long time as I'm happy
with the overall compromise.

Ride the fuckers. Then decide.

I really liked the Tiger. It has a lovely engine. However, the engine
configuration gives the bike a high centre of gravity which is no good
for a short arse like me. You should have no such difficulty.

Whilst you are at the Triumph dealer try the other shapes too. I quite
like the RS Sprint.

Oh, in 22 months you probably won't be able to buy a new 1150 Adv. The
1200 should be out by then. Of course, you could buy a used one and save
a packet.

 

Yeah, I thought it was a bit rich coming from myself too. After all,
my current beastie is modelling a large quantity of gaffer tape,
freezer bags and cable ties.

OK then I could do with loosing about 2/3rds of a Lozzo.

 

At 6'6", I reckon you'd struggle to get comfy.
