I think Thermite is probably the absolute best solution as it destroys the
    case and camera inside.
You will need to befriend a steeplejack or railway worker.

It helps if you are not a completely TC

Curious. You add question marks to statements and leave them off
questions. I'll call you a subversive and leave it at that.

How often are they checked, physically? Does someone go out and look
at them once a week to ensure they're working properly? Or do they
just look at the photos and the data? Instead of destroying the box,
it might be more effective to muck with the signal.

New ones are digital and connected so I expect they know straight away. Just
as they apparently record all the time.

    But it was rhetorical.
Yes I know that to be precise rhetorical questions still deserve a question
mark but this is Usenet and we are lazy. Well most of us are.

A current method in France, especially with the new smaller models, is
to lob a bin bag over the top of them.

I tend to mark rhetorical questions with a pling/bang as well. Why don't
    you try it?!

Blob of spraypaint over the lens seems to work too, although you can't beat
necklacing for guaranteed 100pc disablement IMO.

A few years ago, there was a case of two bikers caught vandalising a
camera. They were stitched up by other drivers on the same road, who
    reported them for the damage.

Never done it myself of course, seen plenty of finisished jobs though,
suppose its a question of using a suitably sized tyre and having a suitable
platform from which to operate, ie back of a small lorry or pickup.
Being sober would probably help too.

It is once they put them on 8ft high poles.

Thing is, damage has to be obvious to assist road users. So casing it with
expanding foam until it looks like a bee hive is quite neat. As is pulling
them over so the camera faces down.

Apparently all this makes me a Subversive, rather than just a regular speed
freak, so lets cut straight to the heart of the issue. Slot the cunts that
    come out to service them.
Shall we call it the Falls Solution, in memory of those brave Redcoats who
tried to become parking wardens on the Falls Road around 2005 ;o)

Which harks back to my original comments. Most drivers on A roads, old and
young, flat caps and baseball caps, seem to be happy at 45-50mph on NSL A
roads. It's doing my head in.

The strange thing is the flashing and gesturing that erupts when you
    overtake them.

Champ has had some unfortunate experience of this.

I had 3 of them in convoy on the A64 Monday night around 21:00. Bad weather
but they were sitting at 35mph. I'm ashamed to say I took the narrowest of
opportunities when it was presented, pulled in hard in front of the lead car
and briefly enacted a "braking maneuver". Ashamed because it is counter
productive to let the bastards wind you up, us being few and them being
    legion.

No, you're a subversive for not using question marks when you should do,
and using them when you shouldn't. FFS glad to see you're on the ball
    there Hogster.

If you're actually doing what you say, then you're a vandal.

I hate the cameras, but I'm not going to resort to torching them.

  19. Not French ones, which tend to be waist height. Traffic light cameras,
    OTOH...
