    snip prediction
It could be an affectionate Russian that drags Platy back to his
    tent...
    You have months yet.
    No surprise here.
Pass out in the snow and become another icepop?

See follow up. It appears that's the one for people who used to do it
when it was at the Ring.
Hotel and pillion conditions still apply. Or as previously stated, get
Champ to camp and I will. He's more nesh than I so I'm safe to throw
    that gauntlet down.

    I'm welling up.

I've just had Champ phone me to congratulate me on a job well done.

There's a small, but not insignificant, chance I'll be driving my latest
    aquisition,

Back from the Czech Republic in mid-winter and the easiest way is through
Germany (it's only around 10km from the border now) provided I can get
enough time to sort it before the spring. If I can, is it ok for someone
with something this silly to join you lot? Might make the perfect sidecar
    rescue vehicle..

    That's a truly horrible beast.
The only snag is that the elefantentreffen is (afaik) bike only so
you'd need to meet us somewhere after parking your transport up and
either blag a spot as a passenger in a chair or go pillion on one of
    the bikes.

I'll not try to discourage you because we could end up in dire need of
somewhere to throw kit if someone fucks up big style.

    I thank you.
It's a 4wd Ex-Military truck. As long as the road isn't too narrow I suspect
it can get anywhere a sidecar can.. It's more capable off road than, for
    example, a Land Rover..
Well, no guarantees, but put me down as temporarily insane enough to think
    about it.

  10. I want to ride this, to see how much better it is than Platy's vehicle.
Bonwick, fancy a lift in the chair?

Shall I take that as confirmation that you're unable to resist the
    temptation?

I don't mind being the chair monkey for anyone that Burnt feels
inclined to loan his bike to. The obvious place for such games is
where ever we decide to have the overnight stop on the way there.

To be honest, in *this* case there wasn't a lot of goading. All that
was posted was a link to an auction selling a SOB Kwack 500 bike with a
    Jawa sidecar attached.

  15. Lovely pub it is, too. Or used to be. Haven't been there for a long
    while.

    <Googles>

Ah, spelled Benett Arms. Changed hands earlier this year. Still worth a
visit - nice comfortable cheap rooms, good food, excellent ale.

    Name a date....

    we'd got half way there.
