Whilst I agree absolutely with the first bit of your observations I am
not so sure about the second. The subject line rather negates any need
for spoiler space I would have thought

Some of us may have been unable to watch the racing live, and might have
had to rely on a recording or the BBC's late night coverage. It may
even be possible that we did not wish to know any kind of result in
advance of being able to watch the races.

    You ****.

    You're quite right.

But I'm sure James himself appreciated the post.

Then why the **** were you reading a motorcycle newsgroup?

I really don't understand all these "you ****!" responses,
as I would have thought it would have been quite simple...

If you were *that* desperate to watch the final race and
see who won, don't read a motorcycles newsgroup! I know
that not much is on topic round this way, but get a grip.
In the same way that you should have avoided the news, bike
websites, even the Sports section of the BBC website and
probably listening to the radio, you really shouldn't be
here reading this and not expect it to be mentioned - spoiler
    space or not.

/me wanders off with visions of *that* Likely Lads episode...
