Team Australia riders Andy Caldecott, David Schwarz and mechanic Neil White, set out to do one thing.finish the 2005 Dakar Rally. From 250 starters, only 103 motorcyclists completed the Dakar, a rally reserved for those wanting to compete against the best, in the toughest terrain on earth. 18 days, 9000 kilometres and 5 countries later, both boys crossed the finish line safely. Andy Caldecott placed 6th overall, collecting two stage victories along the way in his second Dakar rally. The 2005 title was won by Cyril Despres of France. Dakar first timer, David Schwarz came in 37th overall and more impressively was placed 3rd in the 251 to 450cc class and 7th out of the rookie riders.
