My entire office just rose to its collective feet and dashed for the
    windows.

A Concorde just took off, presumably heading for a museum and the
pilot obviously thought "Bollocks to the noise abatement procedures".

    Lovely, lovely, lovely.

I was underneath the takeoff at Heathrow. Really loud ... you're right,
"bugger it - I'm reminding London what it's going to miss" ...

I though I was hearing a ghost one - it was just the right time for a
    Monday flight.

Well if you can get to Bristol on the 26th, the last flight *ever* is coming
in to Filton, with a low flyover the suspension bridge *and* accompanied by
    a WW2 Spitfire as well.

Lands at 1300, so get yerself positioned by 1230 :)

  6. The poor old Spit will be going flat out, and Concorde just above
    stalling speed.

  7. Beautiful crackling roar on full belt.

Last time for many to have heard it.

I doubt it, the spitfire can do over 350mph .... Concorde would comfortably
    do less than that.

I've seen Concorde sitting quite comfortably on the apron at Heathrow.

Most wings stall around 7 deg angle of attack. During testing, Trubshaw
had the thing up to 28 deg and it was still flying. The Paris one sort
of went down in flames with bits dropping off it...

I think any wing can stall. Just takes certain conditions for each wing.
