Sorry if it's a little off-topic, but I'm planning to ride the DART
rail down to the Dallas Convention Center tomorrow to avoid parking
hassles. Since I won't have a car to stow my gun in if I'm stopped at
the door, I was hoping to find someone who knew for certain whether
concealed carry at the show was legal.

    thanks!

I've seen that, but it doesn't appear to be up-to-date, or perhaps
refers to a different event. For example, cameras are definitely
allowed, I've always taken them into the motorcycle shows.

I thought Pender posted that the show was cancelled.

    No Guns....

Don't take your guns to town, son, leave your guns at home.

Texas law says you can't post a publicly-owned building 30.06 (with
exceptions that do not apply to this event).

That is, you can post it, but it's not enforcible.

Called Dallas Police first, they suggested I call the convention
center. Left voicemail at convention center, never got a return call
(even though I didn't say anything about guns on the VM).

Also called TSRA - they were polite but not particularly helpful.
Gave me the name of a person to email about it, which I did (and left
my phone number also), but never heard back from anyone.

OK, since I seem to be the only person alive with the
    answer ..............

I rode the DART rail to the show at the Dallas Convention Center
today, and despite what they say on their web site, there were no
postings, no metal detectors, nothing to prevent taking a concealed
handgun into the building or onto the arena floor. Also, backbacks
and cameras (both listed on the web site as prohibited, in addition to
weapons) were present in abundance. Ditto with belt knives. All this
paraphenalia was being totally ignored by the security officers.

Yes, I carried my gun - I decided I'd just take a chance on getting
turned away at the door. Made me feel better, later this afternoon,
when I decided to stroll around a little downtown.

I also furnished this information to the TSRA officer who replied to
my email, so hopefully they'll know in the future.

The answer will always be "no" when you call a public facility because the
    drones are clueless.

Well, I'm waiting for a call back from Troy Thorn, Director of
The two are mutually exclusive. Cant be municipally owned and prohibit
firearms without meeting certain requirements like having a courtroom or
    govt meeting being held.

  10. Looking at the group of gang bangers hanging out around the
Mockingbird station, there is no way that I would travel on the Dart
    Rail w/o carrying.
