ive been offered a near new power commander 3 computer for my 02 cbr600f4i..

im wondering how much these things cost to install and set up?

are they worth it in the long run?

will i get more power but use more fuel?

how much would ya say a 2nd hand one be worth

    cheers

  2. Actually on a Honda you're more likely to see a drop in fuel
    consumption..

I wouldn't bother if you are running the original air filter. Your current
Map that came with the bike should be able to handle something like an
exhaust change but an airfilter change will through it off. Some bike you
can adjust the fuel map through the controls examples are R1 and R6s (Don't
know about Honda). When I got a new airfilter/exhaust for the bike it ran
like crap and backfired, I took my bike to Yamaha city and asked them to
adjust the fuel settings so that my CF level out the exhaust were correct
the adjusted the fuel settings for revs and amount of throttle on. Bike has
never ran better and it only cost me 60 bucks.

A powercomander will give you a better result but for 1 or 2 extra hp and
the cost of around the $1000 mark you would be better off selling your bike
and putting it towards the new CBR 600 rr.

well for im getting it for about 1/4 of what you think for a bunch of new
chain and sprokets, power commander and air filter, i might also buy an
    exhaust to put on it..

you would eventually have to fill your bike up with carbon fiber to make it
shoot out the exhaust like that..

i pitty the poor bloke riding behind ya

    Buy a secondhand CBR 600rr for around 10 or 11 k for a 2003 model, way
    better bike.

For your bike u will get probably 8ish for it depending on km and condition.

By the sound of what your want to do to your current bike u will be up for
around 2k. Spend that on your new one. 8 + 2 = 10 grand yay your almost
    there.

After riding my friends F4I with sports exhaust and then the RR stock. I
wouldn't even consider doing what you want to do to F4I
