You got a form letter that said fuck off we don't care.

I have found if you I communicate in writing I am spared a lot of the BS, excluding here (bloody top posters) ;-) Anyway the second email explained that the woman was not aware of number plates being on the rear on motorcycles and she has since been educated. I actually went to the place yesterday and had no problems and was even served by the same woman. I could tell she knew who I was as she was very abrupt and her co-worker was paying close attention. I was able to fill up and pay without any troubles though so cannot complain!
This place has some kind of pay at the pump system but I think I need a special "Ecard" with it.... I should explore this as I do like the pay at the pump option. I guess no service is better than the crap they call service now days. :-( Security cameras face traffice arriving and also show the front on of the fill up area. None on exit. Lets see if they do an upgrade in the near future. I have not explored the question of recording number plate details and what they do with this information. I did notice most of the security at the Supers taking notes of all the motorcycle details parked during the main event while the police were setting up checkpoints on the exit gates.
I worked night shift in a petrol station years ago, before the days of CCTV. Noting down regos was something I used to do just in case there were driveoffs. I've noticed the petrol station attendant at my local servo also notes down the rego of cars which pull up and start filling. I imagine it's a pretty common practice. If I'm filling up late at night or very early in the morning I will park my bike i such a way that the attendant can see my plate just so they don't get spooked or turn off the pumps and waste my time prepaying. The video surveillance equipment in shops and servos is usually pretty crap. Waste of time really.. anyone going to steal petrol takes a set of stolen plates. The only people they catch with the surveillance videos are people who forget to pay. You'd be surprised how common it is. Nev..
mistaken identity. LOL - U got it. It was not mistaken identity - they recognised Peter and wouldn't turn on the pump until they got his rego! They prolly gave the troll a medal for initiative (http://goo.gl/QsL1e).
"Nev.." wrote Done that. Filled up, gone into shop. Wait whilst the working attendant serves a customer who is doing their weekly grocery shopping. Observe three other non-attendants talking in the back. Finally get to the front. "number 7 and this can of coke please". Swipe the BP fuel card. Take receipt and leave. Get a call from the Police next day. Look at receipt still in my wallet. It says 1 can of coke. Go past that evening and pay the idiot. I should learn to check my receipts. I do wonder how many people go into a servo to buy just a coke with their fuel card. Theo

I have done the same but with eftpos and chocolate. The police managed to call me within the hour and I dropped past on my return trip and paid. I was surprised that the police called me as the car was not mine.... but the keycard I used was. The police were not that concerned.
