There no such things as an SUV
Maybe in America but not here in Australia.
    We call them 4wd

The Macquarie Dictionary [= 100% AUSTRALIAN!]

    SUV (say es yooh 'vee)
    noun Chiefly US → four-wheel drive. [S(ports) U(tility) V(ehicle)]

The Macquarie Dictionary Online © 2009 Macquarie Dictionary Publishers
    Pty Ltd.

    GOOGLE AUSTRALIA:
    Results 1 - 10 of about 973,000 for SUV

    www.toyota.com.au/4WD-SUV
    www.drive.com.au/Large-FourWD_SUV--/34@/.../results.html -
    www.renault.com.au/suv_australia

"Steve Georganas MP. FEDERAL MEMBER FOR HINDMARSH ... However, all
classes of SUVs continued their big rise, with SUV compacts up ..."

"The Federal Government, has, however, ruled out imposing a higher tax
on SUV users. The Federal Opposition has no such plans either. For
    now, it seems"

etc etc etc etc etc etc

Get over it, its Australian as anything else, done deal

    What about the question?

Speaking for myself I use anything at hand, and it doesn't necessarily
have to be a 4wd. If it has more than one cylinder and a tow bar it
    will pull a bike trailer.

Now **** off, you rude piece of shit.

Only because wankers like yourself like to accept AMERICANISMS like SUV's
The more of you wankers breed the worse this country will become so do
us a favour and don't breed.
Until you ask the question in a proper AUSTRALIAN context and not ask
about it in American speak your question will not be answered without
    having the piss taken.

    Err, I don't have a motorcycle trailer.

Nor do I have an SUV, compact or otherwise.

    Generally, I ride my motorcycles.

On the very rare occasions that I have to go and fetch the wife's Toyota
car, I've been known to ride a motorcycle to where the car is, load the
bike in the boot and drive the car home.

I have one, but being a motorcycle trailer, it is towed by a
    motorcycle.

I use 'SUV' as a derisory term for 4WD. 4WD are necessary in some
areas, such as farms. The furthest off road any 'SUV' will go is two
wheels on the kerb in ------- (or any well-heeled city suburb near
    you).

    & Most compact S U V's will easily tow ~ 700kg unbraked, refer owners
    brochures.

700kg would be enough for single axle trailer and a couple of

Being serious for a moment (if that's allowed), dedicated dirt bikes are
most commonly transported on either a bike trailer or a ute (I've used
both), and mostly to remote locations where the clearance of a 4x4 is
useful (and occasionally the extra axle helps too).

And it's a fact that no matter how much people enjoy riding road bikes
on the road; riding a dirt bike with real knobbies (no I'm not talking
about pseudo knobbies like TKC80's either) on the road for any sort of
distance at speed ruins the tyres.
