    Got (or thereabouts)
Next on the list, I'll be surprised if I haven't bought one in a couple
    of months.

I only really want one as a commuting tool across central London so 'dog
slow' isn't really a major issue. They're also quite cheap (2500 quid or
so for an SM) - doubt your LC4 will come in under budget.

whilst I take your point, one of the other things for me that's a
"must have" in a 'motard is stupid wheely potential - the 400 doesn't
have it. Also, and I'll admit I've only just sat on a DR-Z, but the LC
    is way more comfortable.
probably not quite. I paid (IIRC) £2.8K for it a year ago.

Yeah, I should have blagged a go on Bonners' when he had it.

Didn't realise he was going to sell it in such short order. The new
    Nige ?

You should have had my R30, it was mint, and in the true colour.

    Cheers,

I'd have had a green one if it hadn't been for (one of) A.'s
insanities, which holds that green bikes (though not green cars) are
"unlucky". So I had a silver one. Black is right out.

It's down to storage space rather than not enjoying riding it or not
    being able to afford it.

I'd keep it if I was going to use it for more than an annual trip to
purgatory and back but I just couldn't see the next time I'd use it
unless it went to the BOSM or Chimay and now I've got the Tenere I'll
be using that for winter trips.

It was a motard, not an adventure.
I had it over a year and hardly used it so it had to go.

    No they don't.

They think every home should have at least two in a shed in the garden
ready to do whatever they're told to.

Not quite, it is considered to be a civic duty to employ as many servants
as can reasonably be afforded in order to provide employment.
The same applied in the UK up until WW1 when it became impossible to find
    domestic staff.

And the staff consider themselves damn lucky to have a job.

As usual there are two sides to every coin.
