With ~15 metres of that 100m being used up in reaction time @ 40MPH...

So that's now 85 metres it has to slow.
My point exactly. When you have, then come back and comment.

You made a rod for your own back. You caused the situation and
perpetuated it. You got what you deserved.

I've done over 1.5 million miles driving lorries which is several
lifetimes worth of what you'll do. Just how much do I need to do?

I drive that road virtually every day.

    Others manage to slow.

He didn't; he didn't make any attempt to slow. He chose to continue to
    push me to drive faster.
When you know the road and conditions come back and comment.

No need to. I've encountered similar conditions many hundreds of times
in my career. Out of interest, got a map site link?

Please explain. Maybe poorly worded on my part- I've been driving this
road for 20 years on a regular basis; I know the road well. I know how
other vehicles react, I know how I react and I know how he reacted.

No, he caused the situation. All I did was pulled out of my driveway
onto a clear road. I then Perpetuated the situation.

And as to getting what I deserved, I think you're right. He was the one
that got flashed by the gatso; hopefully there was film in it.

As with all things, tastes vary. It's a hell of a long time since I ate a
"Yorkie bar" so wouldn't pass comment on their "niceness".

    Is that all?

I figure I've done about 5-600,000 miles in cars and on bikes without
claiming to drive for a living.

You're up your own arse more than a little you know; I'm pretty certain
Lozzo's done closer to your figure than mine.

I'm currently clocking up approx 45,000 miles a year in the Golf[1] and
about 10,000 on the bikes. In the past I was doing more miles in various
cars and closer to twice the bike mileage. When I did test-driver work
at Millbrook I regularly clocked up 1300 - 1500 mile days, with about
60% of those miles at speeds in excess of 130mph.

My Fizzie clocked up 14,000 miles in the year that I had it on the road
between 1978 and 1979, when I was 16, and my yearly mileage went up from
    then on.
