How about a wide sweeping SC bend when theres 3/4 mile of traffic behind me
    at 40mph?

    Thats open (to me anyway).

I personally dont pull in to let any bike overtake. If you overtake then you
do so at your own risk.
if you choose to creep up in the middle of slow or stationary traffic you
deserve to get knocked off. If youre too impatient to sit and wait your turn
in the slow traffic then you cant grumble if an accident happens.

I do get a fair bit of appreciaton actually. Mainly when Im manouvering and
am taking up space on opposite carriageways etc. The traffic stops and I
wave after Ive moved and they wave back. Right in my mind just now is a
store in Largs where I have to block traffic from 3 directions and reverse
over a mini roundabout. I never have a problem there and the drivers can see
that Ive a difficult manouver to make theres no problem.

    Summer bikers however....

I quite happily overtake on bends already so not a problem.

You're really quite stupid because suggesting places like the middle
of a corner is almost like suggesting at a junction. I can (and do)
overtake mid corner on "wide sweeping" right handers and I'd overtake
cars on left handers if there was only a low hedge to my left and I
could look through the corner reasonably well.

Let me know who you drive for so I can give you some kind of easily
recognisable hand signal if I ever get the opportunity to pass you.

    to your funeral.

I'd pulled out onto a main road from my driveway. The driveway is fairly
blind due to being situated after a bend. Matey in the truck came
around the corner after I'd pulled onto the road and made no attempt to
back off the throttle and decided he'd drive up my arse (it's downhill).

I did the only thing reasonable and slowed down to about 30 to teach him
    some manners.

After about half a mile the road splits into a dual carriageway (with a
50mph speed limit) so I speeded up to about 65 before this. He stayed
with me and as soon as the road split pulled out to overtake.

At this point there is a left hand turn which I braked for and took...
and also a speed camera which he missed being focussed on my car.
I think the English is straightforward enough; anyone that intimidates
another with their vehicle because they cannot contain their temper
should not be driving. This applies especially to professional drivers
    like truckers.

It wouldn't make it any more difficult to overtake *you*, though.

Once all the unfortunates caught in your own personal hold-up had been
despatched, you'd still be no problem.

Using your kind of "logic", it would also be difficult to overtake you
if you were heading south whilst I was heading north. Or if you were
driving while I was asleep in bed.

So what do you think the definition of "professional" is?

If you are driving as part of your job, then you are a professional
    driver. Simple as that.

I think "professionals" earn a hell of alot more than me. I dont see myself
(with regards to this job) in the same category as, say, an architect or
doctor. Truck driving is a fairly dirty job with some companies and I dont
consider their positions as professional either. I do, however, regard
myself as a professenional printer (if I was working as one). Ive served 2
aprenticships and know the trade inside out.

  16. "Deserve"? You're a proper ****, and no mistake.
Ah, well now. Some of them are cunts, too. Hold on, I've become one of
    them in recent years...

What you are talking about is members of "the professions".

Which is not the same as doing something "professionally".

All that being a "professional" driver mean is that you get paid for
    doing it.

Perhaps you should have made an attempt to accelerate?
So you drove without due consideration for other road users?

    Pot kettle black.

Depends. There's many with quite a few involving being a member of a
body such as The Law Society or the BMA.
